I can't handle my tongue no more.

Okay, so on the tip of my tounge and about half an inch back on the side of my tongue, I have these light sores, only I can see them tho...well..sometiems I can't even see them but when i've tried to show my mum I don't think she believed me cuz she cant see them. Anyways, I have these little spots that blind in with my tast buds but they burn to the point where I want to chop of my tongue.
I don't remember when it started but i think it was four days before Friday. On Friday I had woken up and my tongue was so swollen that I couldn't talk with my tongue inside of my mouth because if I did i would bite down on the sores on the side of my tongue. Well...by the end of the school day, on Friday, the swelling had gone down but the sores started burning and i was able to make the burning go away for a second but now I can't even seem to make the burn go away from even a mili second. Its really aggervating. Last night, while in bed, I was able to sleep but not longer than every ten minutes. I would have to either suck up drool because the drool kept come to the front of my mouth, or I would have to take a drink of water.
Finally it got to the point where I got up the last time and it was 3:40 am. I went into my mums room and asked her to give me something but she had nothing to give me except some of that liquid stuff to make you sleep. I slept okay but when I woke up the front...not alll....but the front of my tongue was swollen, its still swollen and I'm scared that it might not go away.
I haven't been able to eat because my soars would hurt more, I havent been able to sleep cuz my soars would burn and drool would come out of my mouth...I'm just...done. please please help me.

Hey there, sounds like you could have thrush aka yeast. Very common for those who take steriod meds for asthma. It lookes like a white plaque with sores and is VERY painful. Easy to treat though..fruity tasting liquid called Nystatin swished and swallowed 3 times a day should do the trick. Good luck and feel better soon :o)

Although it probably hurts quite a bit, MOST of the things that cause a sore tongue are not real serious, although they can be.  If you are a young person who is relatively healthy, it could be a vitamin deficiency or it could mean you are anemic.  Canker sores on the tongue are another cause of pain and these can flare up and hurt more if you are under stress.

Since your tongue hurts you to the point of not being able to sleep, even though it is more than likely something fairly minor that is the cause, I would suggest seeing your doctor as soon as you can.  Why should you suffer all that pain when the doctor can give you a quick examination and prescribe something that will take care of the problem?  If it is a vitamin deficiency or anemia, a good multi vitamin with iron might be all that you need to straighten out the problem.  Please let us know what happens.
