Is it legal for a policer officer to keep your legal narcotic medication?

I got stopped because I feel a sleep in front of a store. The officer had me do the alcohol test. I did a breathelizer and passed 100 percent. They took my car searched it before he impounded it. It took me over month to get my stuff back: Bank Card, Credit Card, Drivers License, Car, Car Keys and other keys. And he took my subscription drug "Suboxone". I really needed them but he would not give them back. I had a friend go pick up my stuff as i was over 200 miles away, he told her if I was there he would not give me my medicine! Is that leagal for him to keep? I do go to court soon. Is he allowed to keep them? Will i get them back? There was 14 I only took a 1/2 one. When i dug in my car I found a medicine bottle with 3 aspirins. Is there anywhere I can read about the law if an officer is allowed to keep anyones med? I want them to be accounted for my meds I every single one of them or give me the money I had to pay for them. But if he took them they should be investigated don't you think. I was told that they are going to say they threw them away, they can't do that either can they? I say if they did, they took to sell or self use.. I want them back the cost me ovetr 177 to get 14 of them. Please help I need to do some reading on the law and police  and them taking your legal priscription, Im thinking one of them is addicted  to pain pills.

If you have an RX and they were in the RX bottle, he had no right to take them and not return them. I am not 100% sure we have all of the facts. If you passed a breathalyzer why do you have a court date? Why was your car searched? Why was it impounded?

By now you have been without suboxone for 2 weeks. Either you replaced it, or you went cold turkey and no longer need it.
