Lower side pain

i get side pain on my right lower hip, right between the pelvic bone and the hip bone.  the pain goes back about 2 inches and feels like im being stabbed. its not constant, but every few minutes depending if i move or not.  i went to a doctor and he said i had a weak intestinal wall, but he didnt treat it because he wasnt sure how or if he was even right.  are there other problems in this area? he ruled out ovaries and apendix.

If I were you, I'd get a second opinion.  Preferably from an internal medicine doc or a gastrointestinal doc.  You need to get to the bottom of this.  Good luck.  Do keep us updated and feel free to chime in anytime.  The more the merrier.

He did an ultra sound on my ovaries and appendix and said they looked fine. but that was about as far as he took it. i was thinking about an mri

My body rejected the neproxin once and i was scared i overdosed, so i keep myself fully dosed on ibprofen to avoid the pain.

Hi!  Just a quick question.  Did your doctor do a CBC?  ((Complete Blood Count).  In other words, did he look at your T Cell count?  But Sherry is right.  Go to a GI doctor.  This could be any number of things including a hernia.  And have you ever had any abdominal surgery?

The medications you're taking are very hard on  your stomach.  If you do need pain management, you probably should see a pain management specialist.  They have some very good ways to help your pain.

Welcome to our community.  And please keep us updated on how you're doing.

HI again,

If I would you I would still double check on the appendix as it might not be in the correct place in your body. You can never tell. At least get some sort of test.

If it isn't that then you might want to check with a gastroenterologist for your intestine and colon.

Good Luck...Sherry

He ruled out appendix because of how low it was and what the pain felt like.  Once he said he thought it was the intestine, I've just been doing pain management.  I have been using Ibprofen and Neproxin, both of which ae starting not to work.  Was wondering if anyone had any other ideas for the pain management or maybe a different doctor to try, specialist or something.

Hi dNezzy,

I want to welcome you to the Pain Management Forum. I'm glad that you have found us. You must understand that there are NO Doctors on this Forum. We are ALL CP (Chronic Pain) Patients and we share our experiences with each other.

I'm very sorry that you are experiencing the pain that you are. What type of Doctor did you go to see? You need to see an internist and a gastroenterologist. The internist can make sure that there is no problem with you appendix and the gastroenterologist will be able to verify any problem with your intestinal wall as well as with your colon.

Your first priority is to be sure that you are going to the right type of Doctor. When you get the right Doctor he/she will be sure that you get to the proper specialists for testing and get what ever it is treated.

Please keep us updated as we are concerned about you....Sherry

the first thing that come to my mind was appendix. how did he rule appendx out? I think the only real why to make sure it isn't early appendix is a MRI or Cat scan. I would be asking for one of those tests so they can see inside and they might find out what is causing the pain.
