Morphine Withdrawal Symptoms-Pain Pumps and solutions for the future

I have tapered off of Morphine after 4 years of use. Does anyone know when I can expect the sneezing and runny nose to go away.   I've been on some type of pain meds for the last 12 years.  I was needing to taper off for my Colon health.  I recently tried going back to a pain doctor for the first time in 6 years. I've also recently tried Cortisone shots and these have helped a little.  My Pain Doctor and I are considering a pain pump trial. But I am not so sure about this.  Any comments on this?  I have DDD and a failed back surgery.  Unable to stand for more than 5 to 10 minutes at a time without serious pain.  I am working at losing 60 pounds and strengthening my abdominal muscles.  Exercising in a pool at our local YMCA seems to be the best way to exercise. I have had 16 shots in my back in the last 2 to 3 months.  Not sure if I should try more of these or go for the pump trial.  ANyone have a pain pump and is it working for you?

I have have the pain pump for the last 15 yrs.  Batteries need to be replaced by your clinic surgeon every 5 to 6 yrs.  What the pump did for me is give me back the quality of life I once had.  Good luck.  Pumps. Are amazing for pain control.  I tale no orals either.

Your story is not to far from mine. I;ve had a pain pump since 2012. It has been a nightmare! I started out with Prasad (not sure of correct name) This med makes you hear music, very loud music..all the time. It;s one of the side effects. From there they switched to Dilaudid. Then because of a severe allergic reaction, where a pain center, put Bupivikane in the pump, mixed with the Dilaudid, cause it was doing nothing! From there it was onto Morphine , which, I;m recovering from being overmedicated. Even though the pump was monitored,,enough, maybe not. I;m exhausted, @ frustrated! They call me an enigma! Cause No one nows why or what is going on with me. I take my oral MS only when I need to. I;ve been to he;ll! I;m thinking of other ways, to deal withe the pain. Hollistic? I don;t know! Anyway, if you;re immune system, and your healthy, go for it. I wish you all the luck! But also be careful! Sarah
