Moving from MD to Tampa and need a new Pain Management Doctor

I am looking for some help getting a new pain management doctor. I have been in chronic pain for 12 years. I have had Major surgery L4-L5, C5-C6, and my right knee. I have Fibromyalgia and Rheumatoid Arthritis. I want to move from Maryland to the Tampa area but am petrified because it seems so many say the doctors there will not prescribe pain meds. I have gone to the same doctor for 11 years. He has gone through everything with me. Please help me if you know of a good doctor who will write for patients truly in pain. thank you so much!

Hi,

My suggestion to you would be to contact one of the major Hospitals in the area where you'll be moving to and see if they have a Pain Clinic in the Hospital or clinic in the vicinity that's associated with the Hospital. That is your best bet.

You don't want a Mom/Pop shop that dispenses anything under the Sun. You need a legit Clinic.

This is a start.

Good luck,
