Nerve pain

Does anyone know of something natural that helps relieve nerve pain? I have nerve damage from previous back injuries and cannot take the lyrica I was taking to control the pain. I've been managing as best as I can up until recently. My baby is sitting comfortable on a nerve which is not so comfortable for me and I can hardly move.

Dr Mathur,

I have tried Ice,  heat so much I've burned my skin, massage, acupuncture. Nothing really helps massage/ acupuncture sessions which only last for a few days. It's pretty expensive to have to go a couple times a week. Heat helps but both legs (the entire length) hurt along with my back. I haven't been able to take Lyrica which was really the only thing that adequately controlled the pain for quite some time now. Pain meds do not help my nerve pain, never have.

I am curious to know if the lidoderm patch only work where the patch is directly applied? Would one patch help an entire leg? I have access to a pool...trouble is it's not heated and super cold. I have been told a hydrotherapy may help my back pain but it hasn't been suggested for my nerve pain. I will look into the volt aren't and lidoderm and call my PM since I just saw him yesterday.

You are right pain meds don't relieve nerve pain and it is a pain like no other. I've dealt with it about as long as you have. Thank you for the info. I will look at the website.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I will do some investigating and see what may work for me to get me thru the next couple months without the lyrica.

Voltaren gel and/or lidoderm patcges may help take the edge off.  They are prescriptions but are topical and not systemic.  Nerve pain can be hard to manage and you sometimes need to piece a bunch ofvthings together to getvrelief.  Pool therapy may alsonhelp.
