Hello and Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I am so very sorry to hear about your pain... Yes I have Abdominal Nerve Entrapment. It's horrid, deep burning pain! It's absolutely frightening!!
How were you diagnosed with this condition? I assume you were diagnosed as you are on Lyrica.
Mine comes from complications of a very rare condition called Lumbar Herniation. No this has nothing to do with the spine. Lumbar refers to the low back. The hernia began abdomen and extend almost to the spine. There are only 300 cases ever in the world of this herniation ... so I'll save you explanations. At any rate the mesh inserted to repair the hernia has failed and nerves are entrapped in the area. This causes unbelievable pain in my abd.... as you described.
So yes, I've heard of it. There are several "ways" that these nerves can become entrapped. As with any nerve pain the treatments are few and have varying results. Medications do little to ease the pain but they do reduce the it a bit. What questions do you have? If I can share any information with you that may help I'd be glad to do so.
My heart truly goes out to you. I know the severe, debilitating pain that comes from the entrapment of abdominal nerves. I haven't "met" another person that has this type of nerve pain.
I'll look forward to hearing more from you.... and wish you the very best.
Peace,
~Tuck
Hopefully it's just your gallbladder or something. See a doctor and have an abdominal ultrasound for starters.
