Pain Doctor / Specialist in Portland area

My family has recently moved to the Vancouver, WA area and my husband is in desperate need to a pain specialitst either here or in Portland, OR.  He is seeing a orthopedist that has told him that he needs to be seen at a pain clinic (sadly, the doctor doesn't recommend anyone).

We are paying out of pocket for all of his visits and I just need someone to recommend a doctor that will treat his severe pain without having to flip through the yellow pages and take a guess.

Any assistance is appreciated.....Thanks

I'm sorry to tell but you are in one of the hardest areas to get help for pain from any doctor, seriously the most they will perscribe, unless you have cancer or rhumatoid Arthritis, is Ibuprofen 800mg. or Tylenol 500 mg. I lived up there in Multnomah County (Portland,  Vancouver) for 10 years and even when I broke my collar bone snowboarding, my doctor, not the ER doctor mind you, but my own personal doctor only gave me Tylenol w/30mg. of codein...I think those are known as Tylenol1, And this was also before I ever had a record of being a drug abuser. So good luck getting the relief he needs up there. I now live in Arizona and this place hands out narcotics like candy but it will catch up with everyone then Arizona will go on lockdown like OR.

There is a website called www.raceagainstpain.com that helps people find pain specialists in their area. All you have to do is type in your area code at the top of the page and it will bring up a list of doctors closest to you. Then all you have to do is choose one or two and call them.
