I have been doing the exercises the physical therapist recommended, and my neck is feeling much better. My back is a different story, as the therapist said there is not much he can do for my scoliosis, so I just have to do the exercises he gave me for my back. He also suggested I do yoga, which I just started doing. I have to keep a journal everyday to see how I feel, but the therapist said I might have better success with the yoga and the exercises combined, rather than coming to see him every week. Also bought a Wii system with the Wii Fit game, that has yoga positions on it as well. Will keep you updated each week, if that is okay. Thanks much for being here. The only thing frustrating about all this is when it rains, my back goes into slight spasms, and my neck stiffens up a bit.
Hi Denise,
Yes, we'd love for you to update us on your PT on your spine. We are very concerned about you and how you are doing.
Thank you so much for updating us on your pain in your calf. I'm glad that you did discover that their is a large hematoma and hope and pray that your pain will begin to subside!!
Denise, I just want to thank you again for updating us as we have been concerned as to what you found out.
Just remember that we are here for you ANYTIME that you need us. Even if you just want to come on and vent we are here for you. :)........Sherry
I went to the orthopedic doctor today, he said my left calf has a large hematoma, and all that will help is either Motrin or Advil, and putting my leg up when I am at home. I go for physical therapy for my sprained cervical and lumbar spine areas as of this coming Wednesday. The pain in my left leg is slowly diminishing, as today was easier to walk and move around without that much pain. If you want updates on my physical therapy for my spine, let me know! Have a great day!!
Denise
Hi Broncochic,
I would like to join with Tuck in Welcoming you to the Forum.
I have nothing to add to what Tuck said because as usual her advice is EXACTLY right. But, I do want to offer you support and let you know that like Tuck said we ARE glad that you found this Forum.
I'm glad that you are going to an Orthopedic Dr.on Monday and I, too, will be anxiously waiting to hear how your appointment goes. I hope that they are able to help you so that your pain will be less.
Best wishes.....Sherry
Thank you so much for the information. I definitely have no problem sharing the information that I receive from my doctor about my leg. I actually am going to an orthopedic on Monday, and I will definitely tell him about this pain that pain meds do not help. I appreciate your response to my situation.
Hello Broncochic,
Welcome to MedHelp's Pain Mangement Community. Although I am glad that you found us I am sorry that you are experiencing continued calf pain from your MVA.
A contusion is a medical term for a bruise. They are rated in severity in three levels with grade three being the worse which is what I assume you experienced. Contusions can be extremely painful and take some time to heal. However and unfortunately sometimes injuries can be missed.
If you are continuing to have pain I suggest that you return to your PCP or seek an evaluation at your local Urgent Care Center. Bruising can develop into clotting, which is nothing to ignore.
You also could have actually injured the muscle, ligament or tendon. This will require an MRI or some type of imaging to determine what may have occurred to your calf area during the MVA.
Please don't ignore your pain. Get it evaluated by a medical profession. If you are comfortable sharing the result of your findings we would love to hear from you again. I'll look forward to your updates.
Take Care,
~Tuck
