It depends on several things. Is this a new doctor? Does he have confirmations of your pain? Test results showing the injury? Does he have your previous medical records, treatments, medications?
Usually,  a new doctor will start a patient on a medication like tramadol, and expect them to give it 2-4 weeks before considering increasing the dose. If that fails, they may consider other meds.
It is not wise to suggest a particular med unless they ask you what has worked in the past.

He has all the records from the specialists I was seeing I don’t have the records from California only since I been here in Arkansas so I will probably just let him put me on what he feels comfortable like you said I don’t want to raise any flags by asking for something stronger he will eventually get to something that works for me I am only on the lowest dose of temadol maybe if he bumps it up it will help with the pain.
