Oh Sandee I was wondering where you were, and I am so sorry that you are going through such an awful time. I just switched from Hydromorph Contin to Fentanyl, and after the few week adjustment, where I slept almost all the time, I find that it is working very well for me, so I am so sad it is not for you. The Hydromorph Contin had just really stopped working, and I was having so much pain. Now that I've adjusted, I notice much less breakthrough pain, though I do have a lower dose of dilaudid to help with that, as well as a prescription for 600mg motrins...the combination is doing really well for me. I have a surgery coming up (we schedule it in a few weeks), so I'll have to have an increase at that time, but only temporarily. Maybe you can try different medications for breakthrough? I don't know, and I'm sure you've already thought of every possible scenario...something that chronic pain makes us obsess about.
The economy is something we are feeling right now also, so I am sooooo sympathetic to your issues with it. It is so depressing. I am sure that you are working as hard as you can, and I wish you could just rest...it is so difficult having to do everything, and though you are having a hard time, I do not doubt that you are still as wonderful a mother as you have always been.
The forum is so different now....so many new people and not that many hanging around long term....and Tuck is doing an great job holding down the fort, as you have done in the past for us all also, so do not worry about "working" the forum as much as I hope you just use it for the support that you so badly need. I hope some of our old regulars see your post and come back on for a bit! I think it would help us all out to have a good core group again:)
I send you my positive thoughts and prayers as you go through this trying time.........
Love, Alison
p.s. Hoping this makes sense, as I am up in the middle of the night...I have been so often lately--so many problems sleeping, and I'll definitely be napping later on. Thunderstorms here right now, and my little Shih Tzu "Moose" is very scared, and shivering next to me:) He is good company late at night:)
xoxo
Hi Sandee,
You have been in my thoughts and prayers for some months now and will continue to be there. It's true that each of us have our own difficult life journey to walk but for we chronic pain sufferers this journey is often compounded by stress, pain, anxiety and often agony. None of us are immune to this, even we Community Leaders. My heart goes out to you.
We are here to lend our support. You know better then most what a wonderful community we have at MedHelp. Vent, share, post or whatever will help...we are here for you.
I hope your liver function levels will return to normal and that you will soon be able to return to the medication that is the most effective in controlling your pain. I am so very sorry that you pain is at an all time high.
Please don't feel like you need to be here unless you are able. We miss you but are doing all right. If there is anything I can do please feel free to contact me.
((HUGS)) and Warmest Wishes,
~Tuck
