Hello there,

Why is your doctor suggesting you take fentanyl? According to my resource
" The Canadian Guide to Drugs and Supplements" published by Reader's
Digest, " Fentanyl is an opioid analgesic indicated in the management of
persistent, moderate to severe, chronic pain in individuals already requiring
continuous opioid medication." It is available as a patch or an injection.
The patch provides a more constant management of pain.

Special precautions

You have impaired liver or kidney function.
You have heart or circulatory problems
You have a lung disorder such as asthma,
bronchitis, or emphysemia
You have sleep apnea
You have a thyroid disease
You are taking other medications.

Possible Adverse Effects

Symptoms/effect

Sedation     -   common
Constipation - common
Nausea/vomiting- common
Dizziness/light headedness - common
Wheezing/difficulty breathing - rare
Confusion/vivid dreams - rare

Overdose Action

Seek immediate medical advice.
Take emergency action in cases
of slow, shallow, or irregular breathing,
severe drowsiness, inability to think,
or slow pulse.

I provided all this information to demonstrate that Fentanyl is considered
a high-danger drug. Is this drug dangerous? Yes.
Perhaps after reading all this information I've provided you might want
to reconsider taking this dangerous drug. Your choice though.

Maybe it's more then a liability waiver he's having you sign.... More like a contract not to accept opiates from anyone else. Fentanyl is a powerful drug and if your using the patch form it takes longer to get in and out of your system should you have complications with it.
