Wow!  I clicked on this site cuz my left leg is hurting so bad at night, I hate to quit reading, turn off the light, and try to go to sleep, knowing the pain I will have.  I try to get as tired as possible, hoping to sleep through the pain...no such luck most nights.  Even if I fall asleep for a bit, I move a bit and realize again how bad it hurts.  So hard to explain the pain...it is excruciating..feels like it is in the bone, the muscle, tissue, skin....crushing, burning, aching, AWFUL.  It is worse in the calf....all the way around.  I have OA, Fibromyalgia, and Lymphedema  (legs).  I had a L knee replacement 2 years ago.  I take Celebrex, Cymbalta, and Lyrica for these conditions...also Baclofen (muscle relaxant) for other spinal injuries.  Am fused L-3 to S-1.
Last night (early this morning), my husband reminded me that compression hose helps, so I put one on....did help enough to get some sleep.
I am now wondering if it might be RLS.  Guess I will try a rheumatologist again, and see what they say.  It does help to read other tales....maybe I am not really crazy.  Have dealt with chronic pain for 26 years (effects of auto accident), and this pain goes beyond the pale!!!
Thanks for sharing your stories.  If I find out anything that helps, will post it.  Sounds like there are meds that might help.  The Lyrica (taking 4/day...max dose) does help the fibromyalgia.  This pain is deeper!!!

Hi, I take Requip. The Rheumy gave me a script on Monday and I have had 2 of the best nights sleep in many months. It was well worth going to the doc and telling him that my legs were falling off, but I am fortunate that my Rheumy really listens to me and he doesn't rush in and out.

Hi
I take ropinirole, see my other note.  It makes me feel sick half an hour after taking it and I can only take up to 2mgs otherwise feel too bad.  It helps - doesn't cure.
