Saw the shrink

Well I saw the shrink well it wasn't even the shrink it was the girl that works at the desk and asks me alot of questions. When I left I thought why did I pay $20 for that? Anyway She asked me the normal stuff, if I take more meds then I am suppose to, have I ever been addicted to meds, have I ever been kicked out of a pain clinic and so on. Anyway when I was done she said she was so sorry for what I have been thru with my mouth and said she will get the papers fax to the dr asap so I can get in as fast as I can to get treated. Well I called the pain drs office and told her I was done and she told me to call to get me in the next day and she said well I am sorry but I can't get you in til tuesday WHAT??? I said you told me the next day she said yea I know and I am sorry but I must of been looking at another drs page cause you know we have 5 of them in here and it is hard to keep up with. He isn't even in til Tuesday. I said I can't see another dr and she said no once you seen one you cant be treated by another one. So I guess I will have to wait even longer. GRRR I really hate being lied to. My husband took today off and tomorrow off so he could take me to these appts and now I will have to get someone to take my kids to school so I can leave my house at 830 in the morning on tuesday and I have to drive myself and I hate to drive in a city.

I do think she was trying to help but I have went so far with this drs office and I still haven't even been treated yet. That makes me mad. And even tho they have 5 drs in that office you can only see one unless your dr says you can see others which don't happen very often. Plus this dr is going on vacation so I don't know how that is going to work cause I might have to wait awhile to get back in to see him, unless he will let other drs treat you while he is gone but I know he is booked out 10 weeks that is for the vacation and all the appts after he comes back. So I don't know what to do. I guess I will just have to wait even longer. Thanks for your replies,

I am sorry that this happened to you. Try to think of it as one more step closer to pain managment.

I think the nurse made a mistake. Sorry but I don't think she lied to you. According to your posts she has been supportive and if she is a good nurse, she is over loaded. Nurses made errors too. Unfortunately that means added pain and stress for you.

Try to hang in a few more days. I'll be thinking of you and hoping the time goes quickly.
