Sciatica

I injured my back setting up tents at work over a month ago. It was super painful for about two weeks in my lower back. Everything physical was excruciating. That pain abated and what followed was a serious pain from my left buttock down to my foot. It starts as soon as I get out of bed and lasts until I lay down at night. I'm on my feet for close to 60 hours a week and Im stubborn and uninsured but I finally made an appointment to see a chiropractor tomorrow. My question is can he give me any medication. I figure he will give exercises to do but I'm at my wits end here. Work is very taxing not only physically but now mentally because of the pain. I need immediate relief. I've been taking aleve and advil with no result. I don't know what to do. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Good I hope you get relief soon. When you were injured did you report it at work? If so they should pay for the expenses. Best wishes.

I'm going to get an appointment with a medical doctor for an MRI and hopefully immediate relief.

No chiropractors are not allowed to prescribe medications unless they are also a medical doctor. A mri is probably needed of your back otherwise you are taking the risk of permanent damage and pain. You need to find out the cause of the pain not just treat it. An adjustment may help but if the pain continues or gets worse please go to your doctor and request a mri. You could have a pinched nerve causing the pain and trust me they can get worse. Best of luck to you.
