Well I'm back. They didn't do a UA, but they did do the regular bloodwork. I would barely bleed which isn't unusual for me. They said they barely had enough for a CBC. This is a Rheumatologist/Internal med. I left with my regular scripts. But as I said, I took a test yesterday that was negative. It was a strip test which was bright red.
I did mention this situation to a friend that is a pharmacist and he laughed in my face and said there was no way I would be in danger smelly that, and then he kept asking me if I really smoked it. I assured him I did not but just smelled it and he laughed harder. He told me I was neurotic. Oh well, I guess I'd rather be neurotic and overly concerned then take a chance. I have learned alot this last week, and as paranoid as I am about smelling it, I'm amazed at the people that do that stuff and then turn around and wonder why they failed a test.
Kay, good luck tomorrow, definitely let us know how it goes.
Okay, so I got a First Check test and it was negative. It's cut off is 50 ng/ml. I also forgot to add this was last Saturday I was exposed to the smoke, and I see my doc tomorrow.
I've been searching a lot online about this situation, and I rarely see an update from people. I will update, and I've talked to one friend about this. I explained my situation and asked him to just let me know so I'm not sitting there when he does his thing as this has really upset me and had me terrified. I assured him this wasn't a judgement issue, but a personal health issue that I could end up paying for even though I didn't do anything.
There is a good chance that it will come out positive like it did for me but levells were so low because you didn't actually inhale a direct hit that it should show up a test positive and a very low level be honest with your doctor I was and when it came out positive my dip for asked lab for the levels and I was cleared
In the future, since he is your friend, ask him if he wouldn't mind stepping outside or into another room to smoke his MJ. If he respects you and is a real friend he will understand. To me my pain management allows me some quality of life that I didn't have before so it isn't worth the risk of turning up 'dirty' on a urine test. Think of the pros and cons-quality of life/reduced pain vs unrelenting pain and misery, no contest.
Here is a good article on it. http://www.salem-news.com/articles/october092011/drug-testing-cannabis_bk.php
Thank you, Trixy. I will see if I can get one of those kits. It isn't like we are kids either. We are all in our 40's. I'm a bit naive, and we were playing a large role playing game so there were at least 10 of us there when one guy starts lighting up. I was a little thrown back by it.
