Hi Christine,
Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I'm sorry that your treatments are not effective.
As you know psoriatic arthritis is a form of joint inflammation that occurs in some people who have psoriasis of the skin or nails. The disease resembles rheumatoid arthritis but does not produce the antibodies characteristic of rheumatoid arthritis. It can be difficult to find a successful treatment. Your physician may believe that you have nerve involvement, possibly from some degeneration of a joint causing nerve entrapment or inflammation.
A Neurologist specializes in the treatment of nerves, their function and disorders that effect them. This type of physician will be able to confirm or deny that a nerves or nerves are being effected by your psoriatic arthritis. It sounds like your physician is being very thorough.
I am glad that you found us. I hope you will keep us posting on your condition and how you are doing. I will look forward to your updates.
Good luck and take care, Tuck
I assume your doctor may be thinking a neurologist may be able to help you more since the treatments your getting are not really helping.
