Hello Christine,
Welcome to the Pain Management Forum of MedHelp. I am sorry you are having such pain near your umbilicus.
Have you done anything the "injure" the area. This can be an area of herniation when overly strained. If you have any bulging this needs to be assessed asap. If you have a herniation you could have intestines that are being impinged from the hernia.
There are so many things that could be causing that pain and because it is so severe you need to be evaluated. It could be a virus as Mollyrae suggested. Good luck to you. Please let us know how you are doing. I will look forward to your next update. Take care, Tuck
Hello Christine:
There are no Doctors in the pain Forum, only members who suffer with chronic pain who give advise. You can visit the professional forums located on the right side of the forum board. They can answer you question.
I can tell you that there is a flu bug that has hit hard. It involves the Gaserointestinal track and it is very unpleasant. I had this and was hospitalized for 3 days. please seek medical attention at your local ER or Urgent Care facility. You will probly need anti-biotics as I did. Take care and good luck,
Mollyrae
