Hi Again Lesnbek,
I responded to the more informational thread you posted on the Pain Couch. As I said Talwin and Oxycodone should not be taken together.
And again Talwin is not used used to reverse the effects of opiates. However Talwin NX has Naloxone included in this combination to prevent the misuse of the narcotic ingredient. Naloxone and pentazocine may also be used for other purposes. You should discuss this with your physician and pharmacist. I am surprised that the pharmacist did not question why this was ordered with the percocet.
But there are no physicians here nor experts and you should follow the advice of your physican after you have clarified this prescription order.
Please let us know what you discover from your physician. We will look forward to your updates.
Take Care,
Tuck
You should not take the Talwin and oxycodone together. Did the same doctor prescibe both of these medications because the talwin will as you say send you into withdrawel from the oxycodone. It is my belief that these two drugs are NOT to be taken together.
In my pamplet from my doctors office it clearly says do not take Talwin or drugs in that class when taking oxycodone.
I would call your doctor in the morning and do not take these drugs together until you talk with him because like I said they are not to be taken together. Your doctor may have something else in mind when giving you both of these medications but I can't think what he would be thinking.
Please make sure you talk your doctor before taking thesde medications together.
