Tapering off of oxy's for weeks now

I started about 5 weeks ago tapering off of 45mg's of oxy's. I did quite well for several weeks. Two weeks ago, I was down to 12mg's and doing well. But this week I have got tremendous anxiety and dont understand why?? I also am regetting back severe pain in my gums, which is what put me on the meds ten months ago after detoxing and being clean for 3 months. Now my mouth pain is back and so is sever anxiety. Why is this anxiety hitting me so bad this week, when Ive been doing so well tapering with no anxiety until now?

ty so much for your response. I really appreciate it. It helps to know others care, cause they are all going thru the same things. Im glad your feeling better. If my gum pain would only be gone, I could jump off of these things. I am going to the dr tomorrow, he is a wonderful caring dr, he is homeopathic and medical and sits with me for as long as I want to talk and cry. He gives big hugs to every patient and says to never go thru this alone. Tomorrow he hopefully will give me insight to this burning mouth pain. ty, ty so much for encouraging words.

i just detoxed from fentanyl and hydrocodone and as i got closer to being completely out of the fentanyl i started gettting sever panic attacks i was scard of what was comming next was it gonna be pain, dirahea, puking, cramps, no sleep and the more i thought about it the more aniexety i got. try to relax you can do it and yes see your doctor they should be helping you. i called mine every day weather i did bad or good and she was very supportive even on days were i slipped up and she still supported me and that was very important and helpful knowing my doctor was behind me every step of the way.  yes i am on something else now but not near as potent and i can actually think and remember what happen the day prior now. i lost 7 years to fentanyl i am so happy i am done with it not good luck to you .

Maybe try an appointment with an ENT, they might be able to find a cause for your gum pain. Good luck to you.

ty for your response. I am doing this under a medical dr's care, I have had my gums checked by three oral pysicians who couldnot determine the cause. I take Vit C 1000mg's every day, have had my iron checked out, and take vit B's. I am at my wits end. I am on a dose now of 12mg's oxy's. This gum pain started last year, when I was off of oxy's for 3 months. I was so proud of myself for getting off of them and staying clean, even tho I have fibromyalgia, 6 herniated disks and costochondritis. Then the mouth pain started, it was agoanizing, my tongue burns too, and after 3 long agonizing weeks of pain, I took an oxy and the pain went away. So, hence back on the pills I went for 10 months. Now, coming off of them , the pain returned, of which, I had completly forgotten all about it. There is a codition called, " Burning Mouth Syndrone", and I think I may have it. I am very sad at this time cause I really wanted to get off of these pills and now I cant cause of this returning pain.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi!
While tapering off oxycodone, it is very important to do this under a doctor so that your withdrawal symptoms can be well monitored and managed. Sometimes you need to go back to a higher dose of the drug and at other times the withdrawal symptoms are managed symptomatically. Gum pain can be due to infection, exposed nerve endings, low vitamin C and B12 and low iron. So, please consult your doctor and your dentist. Take care!

The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.
