Hello Kev,
Welcome to MedHelp's Pain Management Forum. I am glad that you found us and took the time to post....but sorry to her about your undiagnosed pain.
Our poor aching feet take a beating as we average approximately 6,000 steps per day. Any change in weight, gait or alteration in our body structure above our feet can cause pain. It's difficult to know if your pain originates in your foot, knee or is referred pain, meaning coming from one location but referred to, or felt in another location.
The gold standard in a new injury/pain is RICE. Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation. You may also want to consult your pharmacist for a suggestion of an NSAID. If this approach is not successful in relieving your symptoms it is always best to consult your PCP. Pain is so disruptive to our lives. I hope this will resolve on it's own but if not please don't ignore your body's signal to you that something is just not right.
In my opinion it does not sound like a tendinitis or bursitis at this point but I am far from an expert. There are so many soft tissues within that area that anything is possible. Rest as much as you can and follow RICE. Again, if it does not improve in several days or if your symptoms worsen please consult your PCP.
I wish you the very best and hope that you will keep in touch. I'll be interested to learn how this turns out for you.
Take Care,
~Tuck
Hi kevamy,
I want to welcome you to the Pain Management Forum and let you know that we are VERY glad that you found this forum!! I need to let you know that there are NO Doctros on this Forum ONLY CP - Chronic Pain - Patients that help each other with our own experiences and expertise that we have gained through our own CP Issues.
I'm very sorry that you are experiencing this pain in your leg and foot. It sounds like you might have strained or pulled a muscle in your leg. This definitely would extend down into your foot. Also, when you would point your toes it would make it hurt worse than just sitting normally as it would stetch the already strained or pulled muscle.
You might consider checking with your Doctor if it continues to be bothersome to you. I'm really sorry that you are having to go through this and I hope that it will let up quickly.
Please keep us updated on how you are doing!! I wish you the very best.....Sherry
