Unusual stomach pains

My friend and I woke up yesterday morning with the feeling of throwing up. We sometimes feel hungry for a few minutes but every time we eat, we feel like throwing up more and if we don't eat the feeling is worse than if we do eat. We are not pregnant, not sick and it isn't period cramps. We don't know what to do and we never feel like eating. What is it and how do we "heal" it?

it isn't cramps cause there's no pain. It's just a feeling originating from our stomachs

Hey, thanks for the posts. They help! And we still aren't feeling any better.
Just today, in two cases, we actually got a little throw up in our throats after eating. It didn't come straight into our mouths but it was really close. There's no pain, my friend just finished her period and I'm due in 3 weeks.
I don't think my mom will tell me to go to the doctor because we are fully functional and we still eat even if it makes us sick. Sometimes just smelling food gets us super sick. Is there any other possibility that's it's not a virus? Cause my friend is 110% convinced we do not have a virus.

If your friend (and you) get bad cramps you should look into the possibly of endometriosis-- PAINFUL CRAMPS ARE NOT NORMAL!  You need to find an endo specialist (a general ob/gyn does not know enough) if you are in the U.S. I recommend that you contact the endo association: http://www.endometriosisassn.org/

Also if you continue to feel sick long after you see a doctor and you are not getting any answers, you might want to check into celiac disease.

Hope you are better soon,

I am sorry you are still not feeling better.

It could be a 24 to 48 hour stomach flu.  The symptoms match it perfectly.  If you still aren't feeling better by Monday, I think it is best to go in to see the doctor.

Some women get ill during ovulation too.  But, it may just be a coincidence that both of you woke up sick at the same time.  I hope you both feel better soon.
Keep us updated.  Take care.

No. We hadn't seen eachother since the weekend and all Monday we were fine. I'm not rly any better. I don't get hungry anymore and food still sickens me.
Idk how my friend is but she recently started her period and now has cramps so she doesn't know if she still gets sick with food.
It can't be something we ate cause we weren't together on Monday and we woke up Tuesday with the feeling.

I am so glad that you went out and bought a carbon monoxide detector.  I believe they are so important as carbon monoxide is a silent killer.

We have a weird house where the furnace is up in the attic.  We just had some one go up there in May to check it out and make sure it is functioning okay but I have never been up there myself.  We installed the carbon monoxide detector on the 2nd level of our home just under the main vent below the attic.  Since we can't see the furnace and can't get to it easily, we were very concerned as we wouldn't know if anything was wrong.

I think everyone should have a carbon monoxide detector in their home.

Also, geminigirl offered some great suggestions to look into as to what could be going on.  Did you both go out somewhere together the night before to eat?  How are you both doing now?  Feeling any better?

Sounds like it could either be food poisoning or a virus.

It isn't carbon monoxide. Any other suggestions?

Just need to buy a carbon monoxide detector at Walmart, Target, Kmart, or other similar store.  Once the batteries are installed it will go off if it detects carbon monoxide in your home.

We don't live together. That's what's weird. We got it the same morning with the same symptoms.
How do we check for carbon monoxide levels?

I agree about checking for carbon monoxide - carbon monoxide poisoning can mimic a flu or virus, causing headaches and nausea/vomiting.

If you're not having trouble with carbon monoxide, it's possible you've either both picked up a stomach virus or perhaps even food poisoning.  The only thing a little "different" about it is that you feel worse if you don't eat - that usually is more typical of something like an ulcer than a virus.

Get that carbon monoxide checked, give it a couple of days, but in the meantime, even if you don't feel like EATING, be sure to push fluids - water, gatorade, juices (nothing acid such as orange juice, though), even popsicles or ice pops are good - just to keep fluids going so you don't end up dehydrated.

Unfortunately, unless it does turn out to be carbon monoxide and you leave the area contaminated, there's not much you can do to "heal" it - stomach viruses, food poisoning, etc., pretty much have to run their course - you can do things to help reduce symptoms and make you feel a little better, but only time will actually get rid of the culprit.

Feel better!

Do you live together? Have you checked for carbonmonoxide levels?
