Withdrawl symptoms??

Hi everyone, I have a question...

I have been a bit concerned that I may be experiencing WD symptoms, for those of you that know me and know my med history, I guess this is for you, today I woke up feeling shakey, runny nose, cold and clammy skin, going from sweating and being really hot to having the cold sweats and freezing.  Not diarrhea, but looser bowels then I normally have had being on the medicine i'm on.

I started on one 50mcg patch for a week, then moved up, to , two 50mcgs fentanyl patchs, that I am to change every 72 hours, but it hasn't been 72 hours yet.  These that I have on now have been on since Thursday at 2pm.  Can someone tell me what is going on? Am I feeling WD symptoms?  It doesn't sound like it based on what I have read, but I was hoping to get more insight, someone else told me it maybe the flu, but I am not haveing body aches, or that "sickly" feeling of having the flu, of course I havn't had the flu in about 2 years.  So I guess it's possible,

Thank you
Jackie

Well flu like symptoms and w/d symptoms like you explain could be very simular to each other.  Do you have any restless leg syndrome going on?  Or uncontrolalble limb movements?  Have you taken your temperture?  Just asking because if your body tempture raises your fentenyl will be absorded quicker then normal.

I personally can not go 72 hours on the patch.  I'm  perimenopausal and I have night sweats that seem to use up the patch much quicker then the 72hrs they are suppose to last.  My PCP told me that a lot of people he has treated can not go 72 hours, and he recommended that I go to a 48 hour regimen.  Even at 48 hours I barely make it without some sort of w.d. symptoms going on.   I have a lot of what your describing.  Shaking, sweating, chills one min and hot the next, waking up all threw the night, restless feeling, loser bowels to diarrhea, restless legs and limbs and I feel like I want to claw my way out of my skin.

You probably will need to contact your doc and tell him what is going on if it turns out your not coming down will an illness.  My pcp also added zanaflex to help with the (constant) w/d symptoms.
Hope you get to feeling better!

I forgot to add, it has been about 2 weeks that I have been on the higher dose of fentanyl, and  I havn't had these symptoms before.
