back pain

hi for the past few days iv been having pain at the top part of my back under my ribs even when i cough or take deep breaths it hurts

I get bad pain in the back between the shoulder blades, feels almost like shards of glass in my spine, it is actually a muscle pain (muscle gets too tight). Muscle relaxer and then heat and extra rest for a few days usually helps. But you may want to see a doctor if it persists.

Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. Please excuse my tardy response.

Are you still having acute pain? Often a virus can set in and cause us short term pain in various locations of our body. If you are continuing to have pain it's time to be evaluated by your PCP.
