I am NOT a med Pro....but I have had the samething! EEEOOOUUUCCHHHH! First....get an MRI asap!
I did see a doctor...he gave me a shot of Tordal and was put on Flexeril and valium. Also...I used a moist heat pad, while my knees were bent, alternating with cold packs. The lower back has got to be pressed towards the floor as much as possible. Slowly and gently, pull knees up to the chest and just hold them there. Do Not bounce or rock when doing this. The object is to stretch out the lower spine to release the pinched nerves. Remember to BREATH. Have a friend gently take hold of your ankles, as you lie flat on the floor, and have them pull...NOT JERK, but a gentle gradual pull, both legs at the same time. This is a form of traction. Hot showers or baths are fine...if you can get in and out of the tub or stand up long enough to have an effect.
When you get out of bed in the morning...or when ever...roll slowly to one side and gently push your self up with your arm...the least amount of twisting, pushing, bending on your lower back the better.
You really need to see a doc and a physical therapist. A physical therapist may put you in traction and heat packs and a TENS unit (electrical pulse stimulation)...feels SO good.
I hope your back feels better soon! Let us know how you are doing!
Sickof is right You should go get it checked it sounds as if you have a nerve getting pinched. It could lead to serious problems if left untreated. It may just require an adjustment or could be bad enough for surgery. Either way the pain needs to get taken care of. Best wishes.
