yes he's seen 3 orthopedic surgeons none of them seem to think anything apart from pain management. he had a femeral block done 2 years ago which if anything left him in agony instead of relieving his pain. nowadays he's in constant pain 24 /7.

The bumpy cartilage under the patella can be evened up to allow for smoother movement with less pain, and can be done arthroscopically. It wouldn't surprise me if he has a pretty good case of arthritis going too after all these years of dealing with the injury. That alone may be causing some of the pain.
