Unfortunately traumatic events can form strong and lasting memories; in many situations they fade in time and lose the emotional impact, allowing the sufferer to move through and on. However, sometimes traumatic events don't recede. This is one symptom of what is currently referred to as post-traumatic stress, although it is not exclusive to post-traumatic stress. Severe depression can also result from traumatic events. Both psychologists and psychiatrists are capable of assisting you to overcome difficulties with traumatic memories and/or depression: there are a range of approaches covering the spectrum from purely pharmaceutical to purely therapy. I'd suggest seeing at least a psychologist as soon as is reasonable.

I'm sorry for your loss. I think the best way to heal and com out of your depression is spending more time with your new husband and kids. You should all talk a nice vacation. Good luck!
I am so truly sorry. Sometimes it is more difficult than people even dream of imaging. Last monday my 2 month old nephew died. Unknown cause, but it has been devastating and we r so angry not understanding why, but what keeps up going is lots of prayers and I will say some prayers for you. You should really go and talk to a counselor. you would be amazed at the difference it would make for you and your family. Good luck and I am here if you would like to talk more.
