epideruel for spinal stenosid

Hi,

I have spinal stenosis and have had it for about 8 years. I am currently on 3 20mg of oxyneo. I take 3 a day. I am also on 8 oxycocet a day. My pain is increasing and do not want to take anymore pain pills. I recently changed doctors and he suggested, having a spinal epidural. I have never heard of this before. I would like to know more information about this. How long it lasts, does it help the pain, any side effects and other information you could give me.

Thanking you in advance,

Jo-anne

I have done the shot twice
I say twice because each session was a shot every 6 weeks
First time before my first back surgery was steroid which didn't do much for me.
Second time was after I had surgery as directed by my surgeon who had already done a L4 to L5 and L5 to S1 plus a L4 & L5 laminectomy but couldn't figure out why I had foot pain. He had them try 3 shots which was an epidural spread apart which also didn't do much for me.
I have asked my PM doctor who also does injections who is struggling to fix my pain complaint taking me off OxyContin and Percocet while I go to Nuycnta as I have high expectations for feet pain than never ends.
When you hurt you will try anything before going the next step.

The shots have worked for some and they may be a wee bit painful it's worth a try
