Hi I wanted to check in and see how your doing. I hope your doing better:)
I know exactly how you feel. I'm 27 and my doctor doesn't want me on opiates forever. So every time I see her it's a fight just to get anything. I was on Norco but that stopped working so she put me on Nucynta. It took me a week to even get it! It's like the unicorn of the prescription world. And it does nothing for me except make me depressed. I'm getting some nerves burn off next month and after that she will probably take me off my medication. Ugh. Sometimes I hate doctors. Well most of the time. She also told me about the spinal cord stimulator but I can barley stand my TENS unit so that's not a good idea. No real advice, just wanted you to know that I feel your pain.
HI,
I am sorry to hear your having so many problems. It is just very hard for people that do not deal with chronic pain to understand what we go through. I suggest trying to educate them on chronic pain and there are some videos in our health pages that may help too.
It is difficult to have oxycontin filled the way things are now. I suggest finding one pharmacy and sticking with that one. That is what alot of PM Doctor's advise and even require. Also be mindful of how you are dressed, I know that is not right in any sense but if the pharmacist suspects your abusing your medications then it will be hard to get them filled. It is wrong for someone to be judged on their appearence alone but that is just the way it is.
I have tried the tens unit and the shocks do hurt! I do not like it and it did not help at all. tell your doctor you are not interested in trying that and ask what other alternatives he/she may have.
I know it must be very difficult working them kind of hours and I hope you can find some relief to help you.
