I totally agree about having your grandmother see her gynecologist. It's possible that it's a very simple thing, like vaginal dryness due to a hormonal imbalance, however, that cannot be determined wihtout her being examined.
I also agree in talking to her pharmacist and perhaps seeing if they think if any medications she may be on might be at least contributing to the problem.
Best of luck!
Hi Jazzy,
First I'd like to welcome you to the Pain Management Forum and tell you that we are glad that you have found this Forum. I need to be sure the you understand that there are NO Doctors on this Forum. There are ONLY CP(Chronic Pain) Patients that help each other with our own experiences and expertise concerning our own Pain conditions.
What a lucky Lady your Grandmother is to have a Loving Granddaughter like you that is concerned enought to try to help her. She must be a VERY Special Lady!!
I'm very sorry that she has been experiencing this burning sensation. I would definitely take her to her GYN and get a PAP smear and check-up to see if there is something along the line of a Yeast infection or some type of infection that could be causing this burning sensation. It must be EXTREMELY uncomfortable and painful for her!!
You might also contact your Pharmacist and see what they say as they are EXTREMELY knowledgeable about what to use in instances such as this to get some type of temporary relief before you can get into see the Dr.
I hope that you will keep us updated as to what you find out and as to how Your Sweet Grandmother is doing. Best of Luck to you both...Sherry
