in alot of pain

I woke up this morning in so much pain, my leg and hip are so stiff, and i can hardly walk. Im starting to get irratated because i wanna bend my leg and i can't :( but i have a lot of pain in my knee, and my hip today. I sometimes get this pain that radiates from my ankles, up to my knee and right now i just feel it in my knee, its a very uncomfortable feeling. I can't wait to get my knee brace off, and be able to walk normal, this knee is causing me to much pain everywhere else :(

i know how you feel .after 2 back surgeries the mornings are the worst.back pain forces me to get out of bed and happens throughout the night,,maybe some ice packs will help ,,hang in there.

I get better once I get up and start moving, it is that getting out of bed that is tough.I keep my heating pad beside my bed and on those stiff days I put it on my hip for 10-15 minutes before getting up. The heat helps reduce the stiffness. In fact I am sitting on my heating pad right now.

yeah my leg hurts because it is stiff, but thats because i have a knee brace on so i dont bend my knee, i had surgery like 2 weeks ago and i cant get my knee brace off for a couple of weeks, i cant wait. Its getting extremely annoying having to wear this thing at all time even when i sleep :(

A friend of mine had knee surgery and experienced the same problems, the only thing she found that worked was a foot massage from her husband every morning, help to stimulate the blood flow and relieve the stiffness, this was all about two years ago and she still gets a foot massage nearly every day the jammy beggar!!!
Hope you feel better soon :0)

Hi Again Katie,

It's going to take time before you the pain is completely gone... but you should be feeling better by now.

I had a complete ACL tear and by the end of two weeks I was much improved. You may want to contact your surgeon to determine why your pain is not subsiding.

Best of Luck,
~Tuck

yeah i want to, the thing about this surgery, is that it was kinda complicated, and with me it takes me months to heal the right way, but i actually dont know what it feels like to heal the right way because everytime, my swelling never went down from surgery, it would get to one point and just stop there. and it seems to be doing it again. Im afraid to contact my doctor to tell you the truth, im scared to find out if somethings wrong or what he did, didnt work again :(.

What exactly was the surgery for? You should be feeling some relief by now, so it would be a good idea to call your doctor to find out what is going on, like Tuckamore said. In the mean time, try using heating pads or any other source of heat to the area to help with pain. Do not ice the area, because the swelling from after surgery is different than swelling from a regular injury and you can cause more harm than good.

i had knee surgery for the 5th time, he cut my muscle on the one side, and released it on the other, and then sewed back the part he cut, because my leg was popping, and trying to pop out of place, anytime i would walk up stares my legs would pop even walking and the swelling was always bad, it never went down. And i have been usuing heat pads, it feels better then ice packs, those make my leg hurt. But its going on week number 3 since surgery and my swelling isnt going down anymore, and the pain stopped at a certain point. The weird part is that, theres an area where its all flat to my bone and everything else around it is swollen. It doesn't look normal to me.

Contact your surgeon for his advice. He needs to know what is happening.

Best to Luck!
