is my medication working/do i need to increase dose?
i’m 14 (male) and broke my leg about a week ago, it’s not intense pain but it’s kinda hard to sleep. i’m not sure if i’m taking it correctly or if i need more dose. i was prescribed acetaminophen and it claims it’s “extra strength” and it’s 500mg per tablet. It looks like it’s supposed to be dissolved but it also says it’s easily swallowable. It has a sweet coating as well. i’ve been taking 2 with water and swallow it whole but it never affects me at all. I’m not sure if i’m taking it incorrectly or maybe i need more. the same thing happened at the hospital where i was given (i believe) 3ml of morphine through an iv, nothing happened so they bumped it to 5ml and still nothing happened. thank you for help ✌️
Taking a higher than recommended dose of acetaminophen can be dangerous. At 14, please speak to your parents about pain control.
