Depending on the sensation of the pain, it could be a trapped nerve also known as Sciatica. I also suffer with this pain right down my left leg, and it often also affects my left butt cheek, and lower back. Its like a sharp pain, but also a constant dull ache that can be very painful. It is very common for short term Sciatica to occur after sitting awkward, or even sleeping awkward, and can last any time between a couple of weeks or years depending on the severity, Your doctor should examine you leg in several positions, and if at some point the pain is worse in a paticular position, you should get a diagnosis of this. Unfortunately it is not easily cured, but light excerise can help considerably in loosening the pinched nerve. I would wait for your blood results, then maybe go back and sugest this. In the mean time, keep up the painkillers, Ibupfrofen especially, as this can reduce swelling of any inflammation in your leg and back that may not be visible to the eye. Hope I was of some help!
Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I am glad that you found us and took the time to post... but sorry to hear about your pain.
Do you have pain in your bottocks area also... and what portion of your back? What does the pain feel like, shooting, aching, stabbing?
This could be a sciatica but that is not a diagnosis. Sciatica is only a symptom and can be caused by several conditions. I have sciatica too and it's caused from SIJ Dysfunction. Your Physician appears to be searching for the cause of your pain... good idea.
Please DON'T take any medication that is not recommended or approved by your Physician. We don't know your medical history or other medications that you may be taking. Ibupfrofen may be contraindicated so please don't take it without your Physician's approval.
I'll look forward to hearing more from you. I wish you the very best.
