looking for a new doctor

I am a 36 yr old male, who has dealt with being prescribed pain medication all my life for my health reasons. I had a doctor in Johnson City TN. He has closed his practice and has moved to California. I made the switch to a doctor who is brand new in prescribing suboxone. I feel the therapist does not understand or can relate to what it has been like to be an addict. When I found Suboxone it was a miracle. I only saw this facility one time in Asheville since the switch from Johnson city, and while I was there I had a torn ligament on my physically deformed left hand. I advised him I was in a very high pain scale, and that I am on 2 films, 16 mgs a day. I feel he ignored that, and so for the first week when I got my prescription from this NEW doctor I had to take a few extra for the pain. I called them the other day and they cut back my prescription to getting it filled once a week. I am NOT new to these forms of medication, and I would like to find a doctor who is familiar with my needs.

You also might want to go to the addiction forum as they may have more information about suboxone doctors.  Good luck Dee
