As others have said, your best bet is to contact your PCP or find one asap while immediately going to your Pharmacy and getting a print out to show that you have been taking the medication exactly as prescribed with no issues (no early refills, lost stolen meds, etc)...This will show your PCP that even though you had a dirty Dr...you have been doing your part 100%
I also have to echo that it would be a HUGE mistake to illegally buy online without a RX or go to Mexico...it's not worth it. Even if you have to go into withdrawals with worse case scenario, this will only be temporary while you look for another Dr. to take over and then you can get the care you need.
If you go the illegal route, you could get into trouble with the law and then not have access to any type of controlled medication in the future to help your pain if needed.
**This is another lesson for everyone out there to ALWAYS be getting ongoing records from your Dr...Every appt, every test, etc...ask for them to print a copy for your records. Or, these days many offices have an online patient portal to print out your own (recommend signing up for this whenever you can with each Dr.)....
Hope you can get the help you need and take the honest route:!
Sorry hit post accidentally.
As I was saying, you could even go to his office in person and see if he can help you until he can get you an appointment with another PM Doctor.
Please keep us updated as you fight this battle. We'll be looking for your updates and I'll be thinking of you and wish you the very best. GOOD LUCK! ....... Sherry :)
Hi nihi. :)
First let me tell you I'm glad you've found MH ( MedHelp ) and our PM ( Pain Management ) Forum.
May I ask you what state you are in?
You need to contact your Doctor (PCP, Primary Care Physician or specialist that diagnosed you Fibro) that referred you to the PM Doctor that was arrested and have him refer you to another PM Doctor IMMEDIATELY!! This time, HOPEFULLY, it will be to a reputable Pain Management Clinic that you won't have to worry whether or not they will still be there when it's time for your next appointment.
I feel so badly for what you are having to go thru and wish I had an immediate answer that would solve your problem quickly but this is the best way to go about it. PLEASE don't order anything in the way of drugs (opiods) off the internet, 1st of all because it is illegal 2nd because it's extremely DANGEROUS as there's no control over them. PLEASE go about this the right way so your health will be protected. Make the call to your Doctor immediately OR go to his office and try to see him and see if he is willing to help you until you can get.into
I urge you to find a doctor who is not presently in jail and seek their medical assistance in assessing your condition, and if seen medically necessary, prescribing a suitable medication.
Don't panic. If I were in your position I would contact my PCP and explain the situation. I assume is you have chronic pain issues you also have a PCP.
We all figured that Tramadol would not last long as a non-scheduled medication - indeed it didn't. August of 2014 the DEA made Tramadol a Schedule IV drug. There are still some PCP that are comfortable prescribing it. Valium and Ativan - to name a few - are also in that same Schedule IV and PCPs will usually order those. I'd give it a try.
Don't panic and make choices we'll regret like going to Mexico or attempting to buy it on line. Many of those on line sites are run by or monitored by the DEA. If you would be successful in buying on line one would have to wonder seriously about the drug contents - just don't do it.
Tramadol is not one of the Big Dog Drugs. I know the climate has changed - but I would still think legally getting an RX for Tramadol would not be supper difficult. I'd start making some calls asap.
Please let us know what you discover. I'll be interested to hear the outcome of your search. I wish you well.
Take Care,
~Tuck
