myofascia?l

Hi

I have been dealing with upper back pain for exactly 3 months now. I have been seeing a phsyiatrist and this past hursday I received trigger point injections into the muscles up there. The muscles did the prototypical twitch response and he believes is myofascial pain. Unfortunately, it is now sunday and the pain feels worse than before.

Does anyone  have any advice, I am desperate. If these injections don't work then I think I am in big trouble.

Hey thanks for the reply, No I am not taking any med's. I tried taking naprocen and soma and they never did anything.I can't see myself taking pain med's for long period of time. It just isn't my personality.

I am a 25 year old male. I am going to look into a myofascial release therapy clinic. I'll do whatever it takes to get better.

If you have any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate them.

Thanks so much, truly.

In my experience trigger points are kinda like a grab bag, sometimes they work wonders and sometimes they do nothing but cause more pain. I would hang in there and try atleast one more before you give up. Are you taking any meds for this?

When injections are involved unfortunatly there is also pain. Some injection pain can last up to a week or more, this is not uncommon. Give it some time and if you don't feel better by next thursday then I would make another appt. with your Doc. Take care, Mollyrae
