Yes that is a beautiful area.
I accidentally found a small town called Mexico Beach, 20 minutes south of Panama City. It is breathtakingly beautiful and in my opinion as close to perfect as it gets. It's my Paradise. It's right on the Gulf so you experience the Gulf Breezes and humidity seems less then the actual number. In the winter it's warmer then inland and in the summer it's cooler.
I have searched FL extensively and this area far out weighted any other location. The ppl there were unlike any others, friendly, caring, kind and considerate. This wasn't just a few, it was the general population. Crime rate is near non-existent and I never encountered road rage. Housing is very, very reasonable.
Every one has their own preferences. I hope you will or have found your Paradise.
Ppl that have never experienced chronic pain, like your partners, have little to no concept of what we endure. Our journey is filled with challenges and requires much strength not only physically but more so emotional.
I am glad to hear that you have found an effective medication. That's important as you well know. Don't pay any attention to your partners, they simply cannot understand. We're here for you when ever you need to vent, share a thought or ask a question. I wish you the best and will look forward to hearing from you again.

Hello Pizzadude...and fellow Wisconsinite,
Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I am sorry to hear about your chronic pain but glad that you took the time to post.
Saturday night I just returned from over five months on the Gulf of Mexico in FL. I can tell you that the warmth did make a difference in my pain levels. Certainly I was never pain free but the near constant sunshine of FL did ease my chronic pain.
I don't know if the same will be true for you or if FL is the choice state for you, they do have humidity. I personally did not find it oppressive, especially with the continual Gulf Breezes. Some ppl find a drier state more comforting....I have not.
A long visit will provide you with the best choices. I can say that though I love my home state it's climate is not desirable.....especially for pain management.
I wish you the best and hope you will share with us your decision.
Take Care,
~Tuck
