There are a lot of different types of pain medications that are non narcotic. Exercise and stretching exercises are both good ways to help with pain, in my experience anyway. I would go see your PCP to find out what exercises and stretches (PT) would benefit me, and what medications might help me. Good luck.

Could you tell us a little more about your condition? What did the imaging reports say? The reason I ask, is I have a congenital condition as well and just wondering if it was similar. Good luck to you.
Basically said that I have a missing bone at the S-1 region due to either congenital variant or S-1 laminectomy.
I found out that a laminectomy is surgical removal of the bone, and I've never had surgery on my back. I also have bone spurring at the tubercule tendon.
When I was 14 I went to a Orthopedist to have him help with my knee pain. He wanted me to have shoes made to help with the problem, but did not have the money to get corrective shoes. I now have Osteoarthritis in both knees. I think it would have helped to get them because now I have a lot of arthritis pain in my low back, hips and knees. My orthotics I have now help some.
