Yeah in america thats what they are doing also but what the wont admit is that suboxone does help with pain quite a bit. They want you off the subs then the people with chronic pain need something and dont have anything except the regular opiates that get you high in the first place the whole thing ***** one big circle
Hi Holly sound to me you are dependent on these meds now. you either need to bite the bullet and get off or switch to suboxone- it helps the pain but doesent get you high. suboxone is a partial agoinist drug meaning it will cover most of your receptors so you dont get sick. Hopefully u can ask your doctor about it
My doctor here in Dublin Ireland wont pescribe the drug suboxone he says it is only given to drug addicts.
Thanks for your replies found them very helpful and i will consider your sugestions
If you got yourself down to 40 from 60 in 8 weeks you are weaning properly. I am assuming you are taking 20 mg. doses. To wean down further your doctor may want to prescribe 10 mg. doses and have you take them closer together until you are off.
If you only symptom is pain then you may still need the medication.
Your doctor will discuss this with you.
There is no way to know if the pain is genuine or from withdrawal until you do it. While detoxing you will need to do anything non-narcotic to get through such as hot baths, ibuprfen, tyelenol, etc. I found that off the oxys I am still in pain but its different. I can function with the pain and am experimenting with other kinds of meds. Good luck
Withdrawl symptoms often feel like the flu, cold sweats, restless legs, trouble sleeping. There are a few treatments some are more harsh than others. I found that small amounts of a product called suboxone really helps. Talk to your doctor about the options.
