Hello:

The answer is NO. Fentanyl is the strongest of the opiates and you would be taking a huge step down. I tried replacing Fentanyl with Oxycontin and went into W/D's. I spent the weekend like that as the switch happened on a Friday. Monday morning I was back on the Fentanyl. The Doctor had suspected that this may happen. To give to insight, I was on a 75mcg patch and replaced it with 40mg of Oxycontin every 6 hrs.  That was not nearly enough. I would suggest that you not do that.

My best,
Mollyrae

Hi and welcome !  I honestly don't know about what would work best for you .It's my understanding  that the fentanyl patch is one of the strongest meds .I know several on it who say it works well for them. I would discuss this with my PM and see what they would recommend  for you . Take  care Melissa
