Wow, your pain doc seems even more confused than mine. I just wish that there was something I could say or suggest that might make your issues easier to deal with.

Ms-contin is a schedule II drug, those, by law, can't have refills. Lortab is a schedule III, so those can have refills if the doctor wants to authorize those. I hope that helps. Good luck to you.

I have been with my pain management doctor for 7 months. He prescribes me Duragesic fentanyl patches at 100 mcg. and Nucynta 50 mg for pain related to my back problems. He does not authorize refills. I have to pay 150.00 a month to see him (I have no insurance), and he gives me the scripts for the coming month. A week ago he gave me a drug test for the first time, and before that appointment was done he gave me the scripts for the coming month.

it sounds pretty common to me every couple months my dr gived me a drug test and never gives me a script for 1 month worth of meds.  I have to go in every month to get my scritps.  I may be because they have changed the laws on different pain meds and do not allow for refills

Most pain docs evaluate their patients every month and do not give refills. They have the right to have you come in once a month. Consider yourself lucky that most of the time you are seen every other month.
