I am still looking for answers on my pain. I read some great information on the hersfoundation, org website that talks about the side effects of having a hysterectomy are permanent and life altering. This pain is only going to get worse. I have more bad days than good. Dealing with this problem has become a challenge. Neuropathic pain is hard to treat and takes a while to diagnose. I truly believe that could be my problem and possibly yours problem as well. Read up on it and tell me what you think.I have been researching my problem nonstop. I was reading that the neuropathic pain is similar to phantom limb syndrome. My uterus was removed and it is my belief that my nerves are sending off signals of pain (misfire of pain signals)to my brain as if my uterus is still there,

Pain meds can cause constipation. Do you get enough fiber in your diet? I had Vaginal Hysterectomy in June 2010. Shortly after the surgery I have the same pain that you describe. In March of 2011 I had a Cystoscopy and there was a cyst on my left ovary. The surgeon drained it however after I ran out of pain meds to heal from the surgery the pain came back in the same area. I told the surgeon that I am still having the same pain and she referred me back to my PCP. I have been bounced back an forth from specialist to specialist. Had many test to try and figure out the cause of this pain. I just went to a different Gyno and had a vaginal ultrasound. I am told I have a cyst on my right ovary however getting cysts are normal? The only way to get a closer look would be to do another Cystoscopy. I declined the procedure since I had that done in 2011 and it did not solve my problem of chronic nerve pain. So I am left to suffer each day with little relief from my nerve pain medicine. Does anyone think the 2 surgeries could have caused nerve damage and if so what doctor should I go to for nerve pain. The pain did not occur until after I healed from the Vaginal Hysterectomy in surgery in 2010. I am still trying to figure this out on my own because the doctors appear to keep passing the buck and referring me out to various doctors. Each doctor I go to does not take enough time to listen to my complaint. I bring my tests, labs, and surgery reports with me on each visit. Could be since my problem seems to complicated they just don't want to take the time to give me a solution only a band aid until I am frustrated to the point of suffering. Are there doctors that specialize and have the time to help patients with complicated pain problems?

Are you seeing a gynecologist?

I had the same issue, took one ovary out due to complex cyst, however, I kept getting cysts on the other one. Long story short got a hysterectomy, best thing I ever did....
