The Dr. I went to was not my regular Dr. who I am not happy with (a long story--they found a spot on my lungs after I passed out during my fire dept physical and he just kept saying it was nothing--almost yelling at us--my Mom and here two brothers died of cancer and here 3rd brother beat stage 4 cancer and my dad's sister had cancer and my Father-in-law died of cancer so we have a painful history with cancer. We just thought he and the nurse should have handled it better. Anyway when I called for an aptmt because I could not walk they said they c/n get me in for over a week so I went to someone else in the office.
I also forgot to say I have lost some strength in my right leg and can't seem to get it back
And what do you want to know -- if your doctor is wrong?
It's a long shot for me to contradict your doc who a) knows your history, b) has made a physical exam, and c) has read your xrays.
Degenerative arthritis (osteoarthritis) of the spine is common in many people and a result of aging. It is usually associated with degenerative disc disease that can cause shooting pains down the leg (usually ending at the knee) and into the buttocks.
My bet is on your doctor's diagnosis.
I meant to say the first day the 1st pain was on the left side
