sacroiliac joint injection compared to epidural injection

I am scheduled to have a sacroiliac joint injection tomorrow. I previously had 2 epidurals and one nerve root block injection. The pain I experienced after each one was horrible. The 2 epidurals provided no relief. The nerve block may have just started to work but I was rear ended again 1 week after the procedure so I saw no results. My doctor refuses to up my pain medication. I am only allowed 2 5 mg hydrocodone per day which is ridiculous since it doesn't help with my standard every day pain. I'm worried that I won't be able to handle the pain from the injection as I have not had good luck in the past. Can anyone who has had these done before tell me if this procedure is any more or less painful than the others?
