Talk to your Dentist. If you are scheduled for Oral Surgery then you should have no problem receiving something for the pain of OTC remedys aren't working.

You can pick up an oral anesthetic from the drug store.  There for teeth pain, canker sores etc.  I got one with about 20% benzocaine and it helped a lot.  I got a liquid and put in on a qtip.

Have you tried Anbesol (sp?)?  They have these little cutip things that you break off one end and the medicine drips down to the other tip and then you swab the cutip on the tooth/teeth that hurt.  It has worked very well for me as I am waiting on having mine taken out as well.

Jek, I have no idea what you can do, except to ask your dentist.

Let me venture a guess and say this forum is more for people with chronic pain, and who are looking for support and management strategies in coping with lifelong or life altering pain.  I could be wrong about that, though.  It's just a guess.

Try the dental forum for your question if no one jumps right in and gives you a bunch of ideas.
