I am so sorry I know how you are feeling, he sounds like a terrific son, give me some feedback on why you think they are like this with him is he shy, has he any personal or physical things they may pick on .anything about him?you are right not to make a big thing about it as this will cause him anxiety more than you think he has,its you that is upset for him, It is not good that there are these mean guys at school, is the bullying , verbal. doesnt go further than that.Take a step back and let your son find his own way, we aways want the best for our children sometimes we have to let go , let him sort it out for himself  ask him no more questions, ,Good luck

Your story breaks my heart and I know how you are feeling. My 11 yr old son has trouble making friends because he is so shy he won't talk to anyone. He says he wants to be home-schooled because he has no friends. As a parent we want to fix the problem and never want our children to hurt, but in our circumstances we can't fix the problem, all we can do is talk about our son's feelings and be there for them. Just be happy that your son is so wonderful and isn't one of these "thugs" making an  innocent child's life so difficult. I believe these kids are picking on your son because they are jealous and any child that doesn't fit into the typical  "norm" is a target unfortunately. Stay strong and know that things will get better, this experience will make you child a stronger man one day.
