Girlfriends 7 year old son jealous

I have been dating my girlfriend for 5 months now and things are great between us and pretty good between myself and her 7 year old son except he is becoming increasingly jealous of me. I try really hard to do nice things for my girlfriend and started to notice that her son was getting jealous. I figured i would try and help the situation by doing things like taking him to the store and letting him pick out a christmas present for her and i have taken him to the flower store once and let him pick out flowers for his mom and let him give them to her. Why he gets excited about doing these things there doesnt seem to be any lasting effects on his jealousy towards me. Him and his mom went to the jewelry store two days ago and she bought my valentines present and he threw a fit and wont talk to me now. We have tried to figure out what to do about this and neither of us can come up with a solution that seems to work. Any good advice?

Yes let him get on with it, and dont feed into it , its getting him attention, tell your girlfreind the same , its his problem really let him get over it if you make more of it ,it gets worse, get him doing some sport with you outside activities etc, but when he gets jealous ignore it ,so should she , let him do his worst dont even discuss it. If he gets nothing out of it it will stop.
