Is it necessary for a child with a loving father knowing "the truth" about biological origins?

Some people always defend the truth, however, there are no absolutes in life, and every case is individual. What is the psycological view about a child who is raised by a loving (not biological) father, and his biological sperm donor (not even worthy of being called biological father) has always been absent since pregnancy. Shoud the child be exposed to abandonment feelings when knowing the biological truth or can his only present father be his only real daily-emotionally stable life truth?

I agree. However I would like to learn more about the medical-psycological point of view.

No,  I don't think there's any reason for him to know.  I'm not a believer that all truths need to be told.
