My 4 almost 5 year old daughter has a crush on a girl.

Hi. Hoping to get some insite as to what to do/ handle a certain situation.
My 4 almost 5 year old daughter told me that she has a crush on her same sex friend. She told me that they kissed. And that she doesn't like boys, she likes girls.
I am a very open person so I just told her that she is allowed to like who ever she wants and that her father and I will always love her. I didnt really go into to much about it with her.
She has previously has had boy "crushes"
Is it normal for a 5 year old to have a crush on her same sex friend, and is the whole touching, exploring, kissing normal. Note: Since hearing about the exploring, we have discussed that our bodies are ours and that its okay for her to explore herself in a private place by herself. And that its not appropriate for her and her friend to be exploring each others bodys.
I have also started a "open door" policy in our home with any friends that come over.

Some kids are gay or straight or bi or trans and they know it surprisingly early.  Others take a long time to work it out (my gay nephew said he wasn't sure until he was 19).  All you can to is wait and stay non-judgemental, as well as of course keeping the kids from exploring bodies inappropriately young (just the way you would do if it was her and a boy).

I've heard touching and exploring is normal, but I do think kids are sexualized too early due to the influence of what's all over the place in the media.  I would not be too relaxed about a girl at 5 wanting to kiss someone romantically, boy or girl.  In other words, its not the gender, she'll figure that out sooner or later, it's the age, that would cause me to have a talk with her.  At 5 a kid should just be a kid.
