please help - my daughter height

Dear Doctors, I am the mother of three beautiful girls and I am from Saudi Arabia, my eldest daughter has started her first period on her 11th birthday, I am really concern and worried about her height. At present she is 4f.7in tall and 44kg is her weight, my daughter is very heath since her birth with no major health problems, her consultant pediatric says that she is growing normally and she has a normal height as per age, but there are many speculations about the growth once the period starts, it is said that the child will stop growing tall after the period’s starts. Is it true?  Please advise me whether I should consult any specialist. My height is 5ft.1in and my husband is 5ft.7in. Please comment on query, your expert advice and guidance is very much required.

Even though she started her menses at 11, this is an appropriate age. I would ask her pediatrician to get an xray of her left wrist to assess for bone age, this will give them an idea if her bones are advanced or not. The bones are NOT done growing just cause she started mense although as her cycles mature and she makes more estrogen she will have advancing of the growth plates and her growth will slow down. It is possible that her tempo is a little early and her growth spurt a little late and hopefully she will continue to grow. How tall are you and your husband?

Thank you very much for your kind advice, My height is 5.1 Feet and my husband is 5.6 feet, i will consultan the pediatrician and get the xray done. once again thanks a lot.
